Porter Anthem PAF style offer some great classic rock tones. The pickups are 4 wire Alnico 5 low output pickups. Neck pickup is about 7K and the bridge is a little over 8K. These pickups really improved the original tone from the Bacchus guitar I put them in. Sound samples begin at 5:30

Sigil Hot 50's Strat PickupsToday I am reviewing yet another very nice set of single coils pickups wound by David Bowes from Sigilpickups.com. This set is kind of a Hybrid set as it is loosely based on a 54-57 specs with a hotter bridge position pickup and the middle pickup is reverse wound for noise canceling. I find these pickups to be well balanced and they provide some vert punchy lower mids while retaining the upper end spank. The sound test was recorded directly to my video camera for a raw unaltered sound. The guitar was plugged in directly into the Fender Supersonic 22 amp without any effects at all.

New Sigil Bluesman Chicago ’68 PickupsToday I am demoing some new Sigil Bluesman Chicago ’68 Pickups that are replacing the stock JB and 59 Duncan pickups in my Charvel San Dimas Pro Mod. I always thought the stock pickups were a little limiting tonally. I'm playing the guitar into a Fender Supersonic 22 for both clean and dirty tones. No processing at all the video is right from the mic of the video camera.

Sanford Magnetics V68 Low Output PAF PickupsSanford Magnetics 68v low output PAF style pickups provide some great tones from clean to classic rock. In this demo we installed them into a PRS SE and played some sounds through a Fender Blues JR driven by a Mojohand FX Rook for a little filth.
The target DCR is 6.8k on the bridge pickup. For more details visit: www.sanfordmagnetics.com Read our full article here: sandford-magnetics-v68-pickups.html |

Monty's Guitars PAF pickups review and sound samples In this video I amp playing my Gibson Les Paul Standard fitted with Monty's Guitars PAF pickups. The sounds clips have been recorded in Logic via a Shure SM57 & a Sennheiser e906 mic combo. The amp used was a Rockitt Retro hand wired Marshall clone built to 1968 specs. into a 412 cabinet loaded with Celestion G12-65 speakers. I also used a Mojohand Effects Rook pedal and a Donner Delay Pedal.
These pickups have a really great tone. They can be smooth and yet bite with the right amount of gain. The thing I enjoy most is the quack and really usable neck pickup tones I get from them. Great job Matt! |
