West Side going East Side
Balance Bar 24 NY
Team Tamarack Resort
Balance Bar New York
Well for the fourth leg of our adventures this year we went on a great voyage to the other side of the country to compete in the Balance Bar 24 hour race in New York.
The prologue on Friday took place on an aircraft carrier in Manhattan. We had to run up about 8 flights of stairs, sprint across the deck, rappel into the water, climb a cargo net, run across the deck, rappel back into the water, swim to shore and then run to the finish. It took about 12
minutes and was a blast! We placed 31st out of 54 teams!!!!
The next day was the race in upstate NY/NJ and it was beautiful. We orienteered about 10 miles, biked about 45 miles,
kayaked 10 miles in the dark!, and trekked about 18.
e we battled through the sleep monsters by singing and telling stupid stories.

It was a mix of swamp, changing colors, hilltops, rocks and roots and redefined what we thought of the East Coast. IT was awesome.

We placed 3rd in our category on Saturday and out of the 51 teams (Pro, Coed, All Male, Masters) that started the race we placed 24th.
IT was a great time, we didn't run a perfect race, but it was relatively mistake free. It took us just over 24 hours to complete the
course and unlike last time.

Since coming back life has been . . . well . . . lazy. Plenty of eating, mixed with drinking and reintroducing
ourselves to the couch. Come Monday we will be focused on getting ready for Balance Bar LA on the 19th of November.
