Race Background / History:
Nic grew up in western Colorado and fostered a love for the outdoors from an early age. Now he has successful summits of peaks throughout North America including Mt. Hood, Mt. Whitney, Mt. Shasta, Mt Rainer, El Pico de Orizaba in Mexico, & Cotopaxi in Ecuador In 2003 Nic broke the record for the ascents of the 9 peaks in Idaho over 12,000 feet.

In June of 2002, after a successful summit of Borah Peak, Nic decided to get himself a pair of running shoes and see what that sport had to offer. He had been an avid recreational mountain-biker and was just getting into racing. By adding running to his growing list of outdoor activities, put him one step closer to his top priority for 2003 - Adventure Racing. For Nic, Adventure Racing represents the perfect combination of the outdoors, and the gives him the ability to test both his physical and personal limits.

Successful sprint races lead to successful 24 hour races, and ultimately he will be gunning for success as he & his team aim to finish the 5-day Wilderness Arc in Scotland this August.
