Jen Garretson
Age: 39
Occupation: Physical Therapist

Race Background / History:
Jen started running for the first time while on vacation in Mexico 7 years ago. What started as a quick cure for a night of overindulgence soon became a passion that would escalate and crossover into many other athletic arenas. Previously a recreational cyclist and team sport player, Jen had never ventured into something that required true stamina or a commitment to training. But she continued to run, driven by success in the distances she trained for and loving the process of learning a new skill and pushing her physical limits. 5Ks led to 10k's...13 milers led to marathons.

Next, she started looking for combinations of the skills and sport she was growing to love. Cycling was becoming more than just recreation and she was enjoying the added benefit of the community of friends and fellow athletes that she was quickly surrounded by. Over the last 7 years, Jen has found a multitude of ways to continually push her level of fitness and personal limits. Seven years ago, Jen ran her 1st 5K. In June she finished her 2nd Ironman Triathlon. Next on the agenda? - The epitome of multi-sport challenges - 5 day Expedition Adventure-racing.
