Brad Acker Age 33 Occupation: Student/River Guide/Professional Engineer/Slacker Contact: 208 - 890-5214 Race Background / History: Brad was born in Wisconsin where his love was playing hockey for the city leagues and his high school team. Swimming, running and biking took up Brad’s time in the summers. Swimming for the city team, participating in Cross Country and bike touring around the Wisconsin countryside. Brad moved out west after high school and his loves remained the same with the addition of sport climbing, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing. Brad was raised with a strong sense of community involvement, which is reflected, in his participation in the Mountain Rescue Association through the Idaho Mountain Search and Rescue Unit. Brad says he has always enjoyed physical activity and the idea of helping groups raise money through fun runs and other races but was never driven to race competitively in such activities until running support for his friends on Team Simple Pleasures for two races in the 2003 season. Seeing all the activities he enjoyed rolled up together in a team environment was something he had to try. 2004 was Brad's first race season and he didn't disappoint.
